The Greens Bayou is a slow moving river in Southeast Texas with a watershed covering over 200 square miles. Due to its low elevation, the watershed sometimes experiences flooding from rain events.
On August 24, 2017, as part of routine erosion control maintenance and repair, EarthGuard® Fiber Matrix™ was sprayed on a Greens Bayou project site in Houston. Vegetation had not yet been established and extreme rain was not expected. Shortly afterward, Category 4 Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, and just a few days later, it dumped record amounts of rainfall on the project site.
